Amar Popat

Amar Popat is the Finance and Operations Manager at Kivu. As well as having responsibility for the day-to-day operations and oversight of financial management and reporting, he supports programme management of Kivu’s work. This includes management of sub-grants to local partners across budgeting, due diligence assessment, and reporting. He has most recently used his business experience to provide advice on organisational development, including for organisations in Myanmar operating in a highly challenging local context.

Amar has broad-ranging business experience across financial services, startups and non-profits. With a background in Economics from Cambridge University he initially worked in the financial sector before moving to become Operations Director at a London-based startup. He has also worked for an educational charity, The Access Project, as Finance and Operations Director and studied for a Masters in Global Studies from Gothenburg University.
