Alex is a Senior Policy Advisor at Kivu International. She has extensive experience of policy development and advocacy at the national and sub-national level, through roles in political research and strategic communications in think tank and parliamentary settings.
Alex plays a leading role in Kivu’s work in Malawi to build local governance capacity across a range of policy areas. She also provides technical and communications support to locally driven policy influencing projects in Bangladesh, with a focus on tackling environmental challenges at the city level.
Before joining Kivu International, Alex spent three years at the UK-based think tank Nesta, working closely with local government partners to develop innovation-led and place-based approaches to policy challenges, including maternal health, early childhood education and the green energy transition. Prior to this, she worked in Westminster as Head of Research to the Shadow Digital Minister.
Alex has a BA in Politics, Psychology and Sociology from the University of Cambridge and extensive professional training in qualitative research methods.
