Florence is based in Zambia where Kivu International has established a Policy Advisory Unit working to the Office of the Economic Adviser to the President. Currently Florence is supporting the Ministry of Agriculture implement a major reform of its agricultural subsidy programme and working with the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises on reforms to support SMEs in Zambia.
Florence’s core focus is supporting the day-to-day delivery of the Policy Advisory Unit’s work in State House, Zambia. This team includes a mix of Zambian and International experts. She is tasked with providing policy advice on key economic reforms in Zambia, including developing policies to stimulate job creation, agricultural reform, and private sector growth.
The work involves engagement at a high level within government, working on the Zambian government’s top economic policy priorities. She undertakes relationship management, technical support on policy design and advising government partners on how to deliver policy change and programme management.
Before joining Kivu, Florence was a policy adviser in State House under the Office of the Economic Advisor to the President. Prior to that she was Chief Executive Officer of the Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM), a major private sector body in the country.
